The Pôle Mer Bretagne is an association of over 300 members that receives government and local authority funding. Half the members belonging to its network are SMEs and the other half major companies, research centres and higher education establishments.

The Pôle Mer Bretagne's mission is to develop a competitive maritime economy by stimulating and encouraging collaboration. Such interaction leads to innovation in the form of joint projects. At every stage, from initial recognition of a project through to its economic development, the maritime economy is being mapped out and, with it, future activities and jobs within the sector.

Now seen as a springboard for innovative collaborative projects, the Pôle Mer uses its dynamic network as the basis for its activities.
