The Brittany Maritime Cluster received government recognition in July 2005.  Among the 67 centres of economic competitiveness, it is one of 16 clusters with a global remit www.competitivite.gouv.fr.  As such, it benefits from the ongoing support of several ministries, government bodies and regional government services

The Brittany Maritime Cluster was set up with substantial support from Brittany’s local authorities

These authorities contribute to the running of the Cluster and provide funding for officially recognised projects, complementing that received from central government.

The network of technopoles plays a role in the work of the Brittany Maritime Cluster. It provides a link between companies and laboratories ensuring the emergence of innovative projects within the Cluster’s geographical remit
