Objectives
The aim of Brittany’s Maritime Cluster is to develop facilities and services capable of genuine technological advances in order to put forward internationally marketable solutions in response to emerging security and sustainable development demands in the following five areas :
- Maritime safety and security: Surveillance and control of maritime operations and security of sensitive installations such as harbours, offshore platforms, etc.
- Shipbuilding and leisure boat-building: E-maintenance, modelling and dynamic monitoring of vessel condition and improved productivity through the development of intelligent robots.
- Marine energy resources: Offshore oil exploitation, deployment of undersea robots and harnessing marine current, wave, tidal and wind power.
- Marine biological resources: New molecules from marine biodiversity, tools and services for sustainable fishing and new fish farming industries and related environmental risk management.
- Coastal environmental planning and development: Surveillance and modelling of marine and coastal environment, coastal fringe management and environmentally sound coastal infrastructure.
