Directed by companies and research bodies, projects recognised by the Board of Management of the Pôle Mer fall within the specific themes developed by the cluster.

Based mainly in Brittany, project directors must meet certain criteria: they must be innovative, of a high technical standard and be well placed in relation to relevant markets. Their cooperative research and development projects must be of interest to potential users and extensive markets. Each project must by its nature generate significant economic and social benefits for the region.
