A fragile environment with huge potential PDF Imprimer Envoyer

The coastal strip is an ecologically rich and fragile area that is much coveted. It requires complex management that must be accompanied by a balanced and integrated development strategy.

The coastal fringe is seen as an increasingly attractive place to live, visit and develop. A global partnership approach to coastal regions, based simultaneously on national policies, regional action plans and local projects, will help preserve coastal ecosystems and minimise the risks.

A REGION OF SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

Planning-related research projects are aimed at anticipating European environmental safety regulations while paving the way for compatible economic development. The design of extremely accurate tools - for detecting the origin of pollution, guaranteeing water quality or managing harbour sediment - is the goal set by some projects already underway.
